The Job
As a Venture Development Associate at SpotmyEnergy, you will be at the heart of building and scaling the core operations of a rapidly growing energy startup (about to sign Seed round). Your role will be highly cross-functional, focusing on setting up robust processes, forming strategic partnerships, and driving operational excellence. Working closely with the COO, you will take ownership of projects that lay the groundwork for SpotmyEnergy’s growth. This position is perfect for a dynamic individual eager to contribute to the early-stage (<20 FTE) development of a company at the forefront of the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Development: As a key figure in the operational landscape, you will design and implement scalable processes across various departments, ensuring that SpotmyEnergy remains agile and efficient as it grows.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will work closely with stakeholders from Sales, Operations, Tech, and Product to conduct thorough analyses, develop actionable insights, and lead initiatives that drive company-wide improvements.
  • Strategic Project Leadership: You will own and lead high-impact projects that directly contribute to the growth of SpotmyEnergy, working hand-in-hand with senior leadership to enable further business expansion and innovation.
  • Flexibility & Versatility: In an early-stage startup, roles can be fluid. You’ll need to be comfortable wearing many hats, from conducting market research to managing supplier relationships. Your ability to pivot and adapt to new challenges is key.
Your profile
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: You possess a hands-on mentality, taking initiative and responsibility for projects with minimal oversight. You enjoy building from the ground up and thrive in dynamic environments.
  • Analytical Mindset: With excellent analytical skills, you can break down complex problems and provide clear, data-driven solutions. You bring a structured approach to both strategic and operational challenges.
  • Proactive & Results-Oriented: You prioritize effectively (80:20), focusing on what’s most impactful and driving results. You have a keen eye for detail and work with a sense of urgency to meet objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: You are confident in managing multiple stakeholders across different levels, from internal teams to external partners. Your communication skills ensure alignment and clarity in all interactions.
  • Previous Experience: up to 2 years of experience in fast-paced, high-performance environments, such as consulting, investment banking, or high-growth startups. Prior exposure to the energy sector or sustainability-focused companies is a plus.

    • Fluency in both German and English is required.
    • Willingness to frequently work on site from our office in Cologne.
